Club Carlson Prizes!

$500 and elite status could be yours…

If you read Frequent Miler often, then you know that I’m a big fan of Club Carlson’s new credit cards (see “Club Carlson rocks our world… Again” and “Earn 70 points per dollar at Club Carlson hotels“).  As a result, I was contacted by Club Carlson’s PR firm and asked if I would post a Club Carlson give-away on my blog.  The give-away is designed to celebrate the launch of the new Club CarlsonSM Premier Rewards Visa Signature® card.  The prizes looked pretty sweet to me, so heck yeah!

Disclosure: At the time that I agreed to host this contest I was not aware of any compensation that I would receive.  Since then, though, I learned that I would receive two free nights at any Radisson property in North America.  This has not affected my decision to host this give away, but it is a nice bonus!

Here’s what you can win…

Two people will be selected to win the following:

  1. A full year of Club Carlson Gold Status, and
  2. A $500 Visa gift card

In the event that the winner is already a Club Carlson Gold Status
member, the winner will be given Club Carlson Concierge status for one full year, dependent upon verification from Club Carlson.

I bolded the part about Gold members getting Concierge status because I think that’s pretty special.  While it is easy to get Gold status through a status match or by signing up for their credit card, top-tier Concierge status is much harder to come by (it usually requires 75 nights per year or 30 separate stays).  With Concierge status, you get a 3000 point online booking bonus (vs. 2000 points for Silver and Gold members), 75% bonus on base points earned, and free continental breakfast.

How to win

To enter the contest, you must do the following by April 5th 2013 (Friday):

  1. Write a comment below answering this question: If you had the new Premier Rewards Visa Signature Card, how would you use the bonus points and bonus award nights? (Note: The Bonus Award Night feature was discontinued as of 6/1/2015.)

Only one submission per person is allowed.  I reserve the right to disqualify comments that are rude or vulgar.

I will pick two winners at random from all qualified submissions.

Note: In order to accept the full year of Club Carlson Gold Status and a $500 Visa gift card, the individual winner must sign up to be a Club Carlson member, which they can do here.

U.S. Bank and Carlson Inc. and their respective affiliates are not liable for any part of this contest.

  1. I would use my points to go to Fiji! Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island would be a great place to cross off another item from our bucket list.

  2. I would like to take my mother for a check up at the Cleveland Clinic and stay at the Radisson Hotel Cleveland-Gateway to see her hometown.

  3. London, London, London! Lots of Club Carlson properties to choose from there, but it’s hard to beat The Mayfair for location.

  4. I was going to say I would use them in Paris But then I saw St. Martin. That looks fantastic! I think St. Martin would be the place to use them.

  5. I would use the extra reward night at the Radison Blue in Chicago! I’ve never been to Chicago and I want to visit a friend who lives there.

  6. Wow this would be so brilliant! Have just been to south america for the first time and am Now desperate to go back for leisure with my wife,

Radisson Royal Quito, Ecuador for us – Concierge status might just swing the Presidential Suite!

  7. I would go to Reykjavik, Iceland and spend several nights there in RADISSON BLUE 1919 and PARK INN ISLAND.
Happy travels to all of us!

  8. Radisson Blu Paris – my husband has never been out of the country and I know that his dream is to see Paris.

  9. I’ve been staying at the Radisson Blu in Chicago for 3 times now. Such a fine place. Filini restaurant is a decent one for pizzas.
That said, this time I probably will choose Radisson Blu Paris. Walking down just one block to Joséphine to grab some hot baguette in the morning…

  10. What a great response – almost 1k responses!
For me I’d love to go visit the Fiji resort. A bit tricky to get to with rewards tickets but I’m sure more than worth it.

  11. This may be a fairly low level redemption compared to what most folks have planned, but I would use the points to put up my friends and I in Reykjavik during an upcoming trip to Iceland this summer.

    Thanks for the great blogging!

  12. I would take my beautiful bride to Italy. Then to Ireland. Then to England. Never stop travelling until I eventually get home.

  13. After reading club Carlson Rocks Our World…Again, I applied and got the Visa Signature Card. I have been using the Visa Card for all my spendings in order to reach 150,000 points. I want to bring my mom who has never been to Europe to visit Paris. With the bonus points and by maximizing the free bonus Award, we would stay 2 nights at Radisson Blue Ambassador Hotel, 2 nights at Radisson Blu Le Dokhan’s Hotel and 2 nights at Radisson Blu Le Metropolitan Hotel. If I win the contest and be able to upgrade to Concierge status, my mom and I can enjoy breakfast in the hotels and this will help in reducing the cost of the trip. I hope this will be a nice Mother’s Day present!!

  14. I’d save up enough points to book 2 nights and get a 3rd free at one of the hotels to open up in the Maldives at the end of the year.

  15. I was in London for the first time about 20 years ago. Seems like there are some very centrally located Carlson properties. I’d love to go back!

  16. 9 nights at the Phoenix Park Inn Resort, Candolim, GOA, INDIA – and the 10th night would be free! A nice long vacation in December, maybe for NYE or for the Sunburn music festival 🙂

  17. I’d take my foster children and wife to Orlando – a cat 1 option so the vacation can last. Thank you!!!!

  18. Would love to have Gold Status! and this credit card will come in very handy on my trip this summer specifically because I will be staying 1-3 days in many cities so bonus award nights are going to be really helpful in keeping hotel costs down!

  19. I lived in Fiji for 2 years long ago and have been trying to find a way to get back and visit. I spent nearly a year in the Nadi and Sigatoka areas so I would LOVE to find a way to spend some time back in Fiji.

    Vinaka Vaka Levu!
