@Gabriel – I bought 3x $200 gift cards in the store last Thur or Fri. Rebate showed up around 6/2. You will not get the refund unless your purchase was $200 or more.

Gabriel

Has anybody gotten the Visa Savings Edge discount for Staples recently? I have other items showing up on my statement (Chevron, Alamo), but nothing from Staples. Didn’t know if it was still valid on GC’s or not…

Can anyone confirm that they were able to register their Ink Bold or Ink Plus? I am getting an error message that says my Ink Plus is not valid. I have a suspicion that this could be that the Ink Plus is a small business card it is not branded as “Visa Business”, it is branded as “Visa Signature”. On the flip side, I have a Club Carlson small business card that is branded “Visa Business” and I was able to register that card.

Hmm. That’s odd. As I explained in my replies above to FM, I went ahead and registered today and I have an Ink Plus.

It worked for me today. I have no idea what the previous problem was. Maybe a cookies or cache issue on the website. Thanks again!

Thanks so much for sharing this offer. I’ve had the Chase Ink Plus VISA for months now and I have no idea why they didn’t mention the VISA SavingsEdge program. Isnt’ this an incentive for their Ink Plus customers to use the card even more? Duh. Do you know if this 1% cash back offer at Staples is valid when purchasing gift cards? In other words, the Terms & Conditions don’t seem to excluse gift cards, but maybe it’s mentioned elsewhere? I’d like to get my 5x UR points + this offer. Thanks!

The Savings Edge program is independent of Chase (it works with all business Visa cards and is similar to the MasterCard Easy Savings program), but yes it would make sense for Chase to mention it as a benefit.

I believe that gift cards would work, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Thank you! I’m actually heading to Staples this weekend to buy a bunch of gift cards and will definitely spend much more than $200. I’m happy to report back next month if my credit card statement shows the 1%. I’ve benefited a lot from your blog, so I’m happy to do this.

Just don’t forget to register your card with the Visa Savings Edge program first!

I already did! Thanks!

I registered my visa chase cash card previously and bought a $206.95 visa gift card recently. Two days later there is a $2.07 credit in account histry. I have no idea what it is. Now I know. The description shows “
Visa SavingsEdge Discount”, so gift card purchase counts. Combined it with Plink, you can lower your gift card purchase fee to less than 1%((6.95-3-2.07)/200), comparable to old OD times of $500 gift card purchase, which has fee of 0.8%(3.95/500)

That’s great. Do I just call in and ask for Visas or do I need to reapply?

Frequent Miler

The only way to get the signup bonus again is to re-apply.

I should have mentioned, though, that Chase has become much stricter about which Ink applications they’ll approve. Make sure you have solid business reasons for applying.

Any way to get new INK Visas for my existing MCs and get sign up bonuses for the Visas?

Frequent Miler

Yes, the new cards are considered a different product so you should be eligible for the Signup bonus again
