HOT: Amazing award availability on partner airlines using Delta SkyMiles!

6

This won’t last long!

The blog “don’t call the airline!” has found that when searching Delta.com for partner awards (e.g. Air France, Virgin Atlantic), the system is often showing extra award space when you search for flexible days.  And, amazingly, the tickets are bookable!  For example, DCTA was able to find 9 business class seats available at saver level (all partner awards should book at saver level) for flights from London to JFK!  And DCTA found the same results on flights from Paris to Johannesburg!

I ran only a quick test to confirm that this is still happening (it is) because I wanted to get the info out there as soon as possible.  Note that I was not (yet) able to replicate this for flights from Los Angeles to Sydney on Virgin Australia, but please let me know what you find.

Here’s the key:

  • Search routes that are served by Delta partner airlines
  • Search Flexible Dates instead of a specific date
  • Book it quickly!
