Citi adds Virgin Atlantic as transfer partner

In July 2014, Citibank added the ability to transfer ThankYou points to various airline programs, as long as you have a premium ThankYou card such as the Premier or Prestige.  Today, they added a new transfer partner: Virgin Atlantic.

Overall, Virgin Atlantic miles aren’t the most valuable in the world, but there are a few really good uses for them.  One good option is to use the miles to book flights to the United Kingdom.  Another good use: Delta awards.  Virgin Atlantic has better award prices than Delta for some routes such as only 100K miles round trip between the US and Europe (and only 90K for certain routes). See: Bet You Didn’t Know: Tricks to using Virgin Atlantic miles to fly Delta.

Note that this new transfer partner means that I can already mark one of my 2015 predictions as correct!  Sure, I thought it would be British Airways, but I at least got the airline’s headquarters location correct.

I’ve updated my Transfer Partner Master list to include this new partner.  Check it out, here.  And, read about the Transfer Partner Master list, here.
