Citi has eliminated the spending requirement on the no annual fee ThankYou Preferred credit card. The 20K bonus amount has remained the same, however the previous requirement of $1,500 in spending has been removed. This is among the highest bonuses possible on a no annual fee credit card.

I applied and was approved for the card. I called to just to confirm the offer and they said there is a $1500 spend requirement. I told them about the offer I applied forwith no spend requirement and they put me on hold to check. When they came back they told me there is a glich in the system and that there is no such offer. Now what do I do? the only reason I applied was because there was no spend requirement to get the points. I am in the middle of completing another min spend on another card so this really puts a burdon on me. Is there any way I can get them to honor the offer?
$1,500 is only $500 per month for 3 months. That should be easy to do, but if not you can always goose spending by buying a $500 vGC once for 3 months in a row to knock out that min spend.
You can use the screenshot in this post or hopefully you took one of your own. I would ask to escalate this to a supervisor and send over the screenshot.
Will this keep my Premier points alive after I cancel the Premier card? I need to do the same for my Amex BRG card.
