Citi Thank You Rewards 50% transfer bonus to JetBlue

Citi Thank You Rewards is offering a 50% bonus on transfers to JetBlue through April 30, 2017.

Citi transfer rates differ depending on which Citi card you hold.  The normal transfer rates are as follows:

  • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 800 TrueBlue points for Citi ThankYou® Premier, Citi Prestige® and Citi Chairman®
  • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 500 TrueBlue points  For Citi ThankYou Preferred or Citi Forward

After the 50% bonus, points will transfer at these rates:

  • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 1,200 TrueBlue points for Citi ThankYou® Premier, Citi Prestige® and Citi Chairman®
  • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 750 TrueBlue points  For Citi ThankYou Preferred or Citi Forward

According to Frequent Miler’s Reasonable Redemption Values, JetBlue points are worth about 1.46 cents per point (this does vary a bit; check your preferred routes for current pricing).  This means that transferring from the Citi Thank You Premier, Citi Prestige, or Citi Chairman cards will yield about 1.75 cents per Thank You point.  If you also hold the JetBlue Plus credit card, you would receive a 10% rebate on redemption of points, further increasing your yield a bit.  Citi says that transfers could take up to 14 days, but according to this Flyertalk thread transfers are usually instant — YMMV.

  1. I logged on to my Citi acct and see I have 96,000 Citi AAdvantage points but I do not see anything in your FrequentMiler post about how to transfer them from my Citi account to the JetBlue system. Do I log onto Jet Blue first and is there some way I can transfer those 96,000 points while I am logged on the my citi account? Since this offer expires tonight, it would be nice to know how to make the transfer
