In this morning’s Last Chance Deals post, we mentioned that a great fare we posted last week is still alive: $114 round trip in either direction between Orlando and Los Angeles. While that fare is already great, a reader pointed out that it can get even better with the Visa Infinite Discount Air program from the Chase Ritz-Carlton Visa or CNB Crystal Visa Infinite, which will give you a $100 discount if you’re booking 2 or more people, which could bring the cost as low as $64 per person round trip.
If you have one of those two credit cards, you should be able book two tickets for $128 total round trip, as shown in the picture above. You’ll need to go to the page corresponding page for your card and enter your card number to search:
It will be easiest to use Google Flights to first search for dates. Unfortunately, the calendar view is not automatically showing all available dates at first search, so you will have to manually check departure dates for the fare. For example, when I put in the city pairs and then brought up the calendar view before selecting a departure date, this is what it showed:
Note that the only departure date shown in January at this price is January 23rd. However, when I selected January 22nd as my departure date, not only was he $115 fare available, but there were a handful of possible return dates.
It seems that the majority of dates with availability are in the second half of January and first half of February. I had a harder time replicating the prices departing from Los Angeles, but there are some dates available that way as well. Here is a link to Google flights to play with dates:
Once you find your dates, you should be able to put them into the booking engines linked above to score a nice discount.
For more information on the how this discount program works, see: Bet You Didn’t Know: A Repeatable Companion Airfare Discount with the CNB Crystal Visa Infinite. The Chase Ritz-Carlton booking engine works the same way. If you can make dates work, this is a really nice deal.
