There’s a new Amex Offer out that I found on a couple of cards good for $40 back after spending $200 or more at DoubleTree Hotels within the US and US Territories.

Quick Thoughts

This would stack with Hilton’s ongoing promotion for a lot of extra points (See: Hilton Double Up: 2x points Sept 1-December 31st, Diamonds earn more). If you have a stay planned, it’s always nice to get some extra cash back. I found this offer on Business Platinum cards, which would mean sacrificing the 12 points per dollar on Hilton spend that I could earn with the Hilton Honors Surpass card, though $40 certainly outweighs the value of those points in most scenarios. I don’t believe that Hilton hotels sell gift cards (though Amex periodically comes out with an Amex Offer on Hilton gift cards, I don’t believe these cards are carried in hotels), so this would likely only work for stays/events. Honestly, this is less likely to drive me to stay at a DoubleTree than the warm chocolate chip cookies, but if I can get a couple of cookies and forty bucks back, I’ll take it.
