US Bank has sent out an email offer to Club Carlson Visa Card holders offering 2,500 bonus points for making four online purchases of $25 or more between today and December 21, 2017. This is an easy 25x on almost anything you want as you could easily buy four $25 gift cards online. I definitely plan to take advantage of this one. The terms state that this offer is not transferable and it did have my name and information, but I’m not sure whether or not it is targeted.

The Deal

  • Use your Club Carlson Visa card to make four online purchases of at least $25 each by December 31, 2017 and earn 2,500 bonus points

Key Terms

  • Points will be applied to your account 10-12 weeks after the end of the promotion

Quick Thoughts

This is an easy promotion that I’ll definitely go after. Four online purchases is super simple. The terms within the email do state that this promotion is not transferable, so it’s possible that it’s targeted. The subject line says, “Earn 2,500 bonus points for holiday shopping online“, so keep your eye out for it if you’re a card holder.

Did you receive this targeted offer on your Club Carlson Visa?

Would paying a bill online count as a purchase toward this promotion, or do you need to buy a product? Thanks.

Also on their AAA card: spend $25 x 4= $25 AAA dollars

Thomas

Got same thing for my Korean Air card from US Bank which I don’t use much.

Kate

Both my husband and I got the offer, but I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle for me. We do put spend on it, amassing points for using in Europe.
Also let me second the request for more Fairmont articles. Our nights for the spend haven’t posted either.

Patty

Nick, off topic I know, but can you please update all of us who followed Greg’s advice by putting spend on Fairmont card to get 1 free night. None of my families’ Fairmont cards have said free night yet. Please update us……

ashokz

I got it on my Cash+ card. I am not sure if it will work for bill pay.

Yuri

I’ve got a similar offer on my Flexperks card, which offers 1500 points after 4 purchases of $25 each online before December 31st. I’ll take it. That’s $22.50 right away.
Nothing on my Club Carlson card.

8$ back for 100$ requiring 4 transactions – not a valuable one, IMHO.
I was also targeted – probably for using my card rarely if at all

Karen

I just received it a few minutes ago – looks like many hours after you received yours – so maybe they’re sending them out in phases as opposed to one mass mailing.

I have both the Premier Rewards (personal) Visa card and the Business Rewards Visa. I received that same offer only on my Business card – with slightly different wording. Watching my email for the personal version, though!

I got an email offering me “earn double points at participating hotels, gas stations and car rentals partners avis and budget” between now and 12/31/17.
The hotels are all Club Carlson properties and the car rentals have to be booked through their link. It says any gas station on the link (but I would guess they don’t allow costco etc.).

I’m not sure Nick. I don’t use the card either. I just got it earlier this year for the bonus points. I just used it for the initial spend to get the bonus points and don’t use it at all. I’m trying to decide if it’s even worth keeping it beyond the 1st year. Yes, you get 40,000 points per year upon renewal but there are hardly any good properties in the USA. Abroad is a bit more interesting but it looks like there was a huge devaluation not too long ago.

Ken

Me either, I never use the card. I think it’s been over 6 months, and the last time I used it was just a few bucks to keep it active.

Aleks

No email.

I too have the card and didn’t get this email. I did get the email offering double points on gas, car rentals, etc. through the end of the year, but that one isn’t as interesting.
