Yesterday, Greg wrote a post titled, “Best options for domestic first class awards“. If you were reading that post wishing to find transcontinental business or first class flights on American Airlines, a genie has emerged from the bottle and granted your wish: premium cabin transcon awards are available right now over the coming months, with more than one seat open in 3-cabin business and first class in fully flat beds between New York and San Francisco and Los Angeles on many dates.

Here’s a look at availability for two seats in nonstop flat-bed business class between New York and San Francisco in March/April.

And here is availability for two seats in first class from April into May on the same route:

Here’s February into March for two seats in first class from Los Angeles to New York.

Bottom line

Availability like this on transcon premium routes is rare. If you’re looking to fly these routes, your best bet is to book as soon as possible — the availability will not last long. See your options for booking with other miles in yesterday’s post linked at the top and see aa.com to search for dates. Choose “nonstop” out of the drop down to the left of the availability calendar to isolate the 3-cabin premium product.

H/T: First Class Flyer.

For Premium service it is 32.5k business. Unless using Etihad miles then 25k business and 32.5k First

All of the 25k business class prices you show in the calendar are for flights with layovers (i.e. not transcon, and not flat-bed seats). There’s actually very little available (e.g. nothing between March 7 and April 10, and only a few other dates). AA saver first at 50k isn’t generally isn’t impossible to find.

Baited. I have yet to see a non-stop JFK-SFO Business saver that wasn’t 32.5K.

JL

when did 32.5k become business saaver? thought it was always 25k.

Nicky L.

It’s 32.5K for lie-flat non-stop routes.
