The other day, Stephen wrote about this week’s T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion, good for $15 off an order of $25 or more at 1800Flowers. An astute reader named Dave pointed out that the promotional landing page you reach after clicking through your T-Mobile Tuesdays app seems to indicate that you will receive one year of free Celebrations Passport membership (normally $29.99, but often available for $19.99) with your order. It’s a little unclear, but I think he may be right.

The Deal

Quick Thoughts

As seen in the banner pictured above, it says that with your purchase, “you now qualify for Free Shipping/No Service Charge all year long“. The asterisk points you to the bottom of the page, where it says the following:

Offer available online and by telephone only. Offers cannot be combined, may not be available on all products and are subject to restrictions and limitations. Offer valid through 02/09/2018. Purchasers will receive an email on or about February 19, 2018 with the details on how to receive their year of Free Shipping / No Service Charge.

As you can see, the terms reference Celebrations Passport and the final sentence indicates that purchasers will receive an email on or about February 19, 2018 with the details on how to receive their year of Free Shipping / No Service Charge. What exactly does that mean? Does it mean you get Free Shipping / No Service Charge on this order, but they will email you with details on how to pay $29.99 to receive free shipping on future orders? Or does it mean that you will receive a free Celebrations Passport membership for ordering through this promotion? I don’t know for sure, but I think it means the latter.

As a reminder for those new to 1800Flowers, Celebrations Passport is the free shipping program at 1800Flowers. It is an instrumental tool if you are looking to stack up big mileage payouts on gifts throughout the year as it stacks with Amex Offers and other promotions. For example, if you want to earn enough points for a Southwest Companion pass by purchasing flowers, you would want a Celebrations Passport account to reduce your cost (though note that your cost will still be significant if generating all 110,000 of the points this way).

It seems we won’t know for sure how this promotion pans out until February 19th. Unfortunately, if you did not “claim” the promo code in the T-Mobile Tuesdays app on Tuesday of this week, I don’t believe you can still claim it. However, if you’re like me and you clicked “claim” on Tuesday but haven’t yet used the code, you’ve got until 11:59pm ET on February 9th to redeem the code. I already have a Celebrations Passport subscription, but my wife will place an order with her account to test and see if this does indeed come with a free Celebrations Passport membership. If you’re sitting on a code, it may be more valuable than the $15 discount.
