Another great offer: Alaska Airlines – spend $250, get $50/5K back [Targeted]

Miles to Memories is reporting on another new Amex Offer that I didn’t receive on any accounts this morning: Spend $250+ with Alaska Airlines, get 5,000 Membership Rewards points. #jealous (no, that’s not a Twitter sync). The best play here would be to use it in conjunction with an Alaska Companion Certificate if you are an Alaska Airlines credit card holder (you don’t have to use your Alaska Airlines credit card to make that booking). I didn’t get targeted for this one,…

[Expired] First class mileage run: BA First from $1045 earns ~50K Alaska miles

God Save the Points is reporting an amazing airfare sale that was first posted on Flyertalk: British Airways first class (mixed with AA or LATAM Business) from London to Guayaquil, Ecuador from $1045 round trip! These flights include British Airways first class from London to New York or Miami and then either American or LATAM between the US and Ecuador. With the current Alaska bonuses on paid premium cabins with British Airways, this looks like a decent mileage run.…

11.5K to Hawaii: Now use Singapore miles to fly on Alaska

Singapore Airlines and Alaska Airlines recently announced a partnership. Today, Singapore released its award chart for travel on Alaska, and it results in the new cheapest awards to Hawaii from the middle of the country westward, with travel as low as 11,500 miles one-way (which should include flights from places like Denver, Pheonix, Boise, Bozeman, Calgary, and more). While British Airways has long been a good redemption for Alaska flights departing the west coast at 12.5K one-way, this…

Alaska allowing guests again with Priority Pass

Back in May, Alaska airlines stopped allowing Priority Pass holders to bring guests into its Boardroom lounges (and access even for primary cardholders was often being restricted due to space constraints). However, effective yesterday, access has been expanded and Priority Pass holders are now permitted to bring two guests into Boardroom locations in Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles. Of course, lounges could (and probably will) still be capacity-controlled. However, this change is obviously a net positive…

Some hot deals around the ‘net

As today is Amazon Prime Day, retailers from A to Z are doing their best to steal your attention away (see what I did there?). Here is a collection of some of the deals — both on Amazon and around the web — going on today. Note that I have not done extensive research on these, they were just deals that caught my eye and I thought readers may find useful. Most of these came from watching Slickdeals…

Free Virgin Mobile + Virgin Atlantic / Alaska discounts: Deal or no deal?

Free Virgin Mobile cell service for one year

On the heels of Sprint’s recent (and still valid until 6/30) promotion for one year of FREE Sprint cell phone service, Virgin Mobile announced a few days ago that they are also offering nearly free wireless service for 12 months, as well as opportunities for 2-for-1 travel on Virgin Atlantic and up to 20% off some Alaska Airlines flights. However, there is a catch….or two or three or four. The main catch is that you have…

A great perk that isn’t going away soon

Yesterday morning, Greg wrote about some of the great credit card perks that may be living on a limited amount of time and this morning he wrote about why it might make sense to get and keep a US Bank Altitude Reserve card. Of course, the biggest reason in my book to get and keep it is for 3X mobile payments — a perk that I called too generous when I called the Altitude Reserve DOA.…
