Act fast if you want the Wyndham credit card offers

This morning, Greg wrote about the great promotions currently being run by Wyndham Rewards and the terrific value you can get out of the program since all hotels cost 15K per night (See: 35,000 bonus points: planning my first mattress run in years). Since there is no easy way to transfer points into Wyndham and they cap your annual point-purchasing power, the only other way to quickly amass Wyndham points is through the Wyndham Rewards…

Barclaycard’s 15,000 mile anniversary incentive

Barclaycard's 15,000 mile anniversary

My wife and I have a total of four Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator Red MasterCards (we have two each).  The cards began life as US Airways cards before the big airline merger.  Three out of four cards are long term keepers.  We signed up for these cards when Barclaycard offered an annual 10,000 mile bonus with each card.  Paying the annual fees is like buying 10,000 AA miles for $89, every year, with each card.  That…

Barclaycard introduces CashForward card

When Barclaycard first introduced their Arrival Plus card, it was pretty exciting.  At the time, it offered 2 points per dollar for all spend plus a 10% rebate on all points redeemed.  The card offered an effective return of 2.22% back on all purchases, as long as points were redeemed for travel.  Since then, the Arrival Plus has devalued a bit.  The 10% rebate has been lowered to 5% and the minimum redemption amount was…

$37.50 for peace of mind and 10,000 points

10,000 points

My wife just received a 10K bonus point offer from Barclaycard for her Wyndham card. All she has to do is spend $500 per month for three months: This is not nearly as good as an offer I got recently from Barclaycard for 15,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $500 per month for three months, but it’s certainly not a bad offer. Even though my wife’s Wyndham card has been thoroughly sock-drawered after earning its original…

Should you keep, upgrade, or downgrade your AAdvantage Aviator card? Do you have a choice?

AAdvantage Aviator card

My wife and I have four AAdvantage Aviator Red MasterCards.  Yep, we have two each.  Before American Airlines and US Airways merged their loyalty programs, the Barclaycard US Airways MasterCard offered a terrific signup bonus: 50,000 miles after first purchase.  At times, the bonus was a bit lower – 40,000 miles, if I recall correctly.  And, sometimes the offer included 10,000 anniversary miles.  To complicate things a bit, sometimes the 10,000 anniversary miles were promised…
