Should I pounce on the Amex transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic?

Amex is once again offering a 30% bonus on points transferred from Membership Rewards to Virgin Atlantic.  That means, for example, if you transfer 100,000 Membership Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic, you’ll get 130,000 Virgin Atlantic miles. As I write this, I have about 140,000 Membership Rewards points in my account and my wife has 478,00 (she’s obviously much better at this game than I am).  On the other hand, she doesn’t have any Virgin…

Virgin Atlantic can be a great…

Should I go for the 30% transfer bonus to Virgin? Reader input requested.

The Amex Membership Rewards 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic ends Monday, May 22.  I’m tempted to take advantage of it, for several reasons: Virgin Atlantic miles are extremely valuable towards ANA first class flights. Virgin Atlantic miles can be quite valuable towards Delta flights. Virgin Atlantic miles can be valuable for Virgin Atlantic awards and upgrades if you don’t mind dealing with high fuel surcharges.
