[Dead] $100 Whole Foods gift card + 5x at Staples

Update: Unfortunately, this one is dead already — Staples.com is showing this as sold out when you try to add it to your cart. You may want to keep an eye on it over the next couple of days as Staples sometimes replenishes inventory on eGift cards.

In addition to this morning’s deal at Gyft for $10 off of $100 on Whole Foods gift cards, readers Larry and Nancy pointed out that Staples.com has the same deal going: buy a $100 Whole Foods Gift Card for $90. Purchases at Staples.com easily qualify for 5x rewards on the cards that earn the Best Category Bonuses at office supply stores.

The Deal

Key Terms

  • Online only
  • Staples does not sell more than $2K of gift cards in any single order
  • Delivered via email (Staples email delivery can take from 1 to several days)

Quick Thoughts

As with the deal at Gyft, this is notable for the ability to get 10% off at Whole Foods in addition to earning an easy 5x with a card like the Ink Cash card (currently featuring an increased signup bonus). In my experiences, Staples gift card deliveries always take at least 24 hours and sometimes several days, so keep that in mind. Even though portal terms usually exclude gift card purchases from earning rewards, real-life experiences sometimes suggest otherwise – see our Laboratory for recent results. This one is likely to sell out, so if you’re interested I suggest taking advantage sooner rather than later.
