In the next few days, a number of online retailers will offer 10 to 15 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar for shopping online through the Ultimate Rewards Mall
Lands’ End
December 2nd only, get 10 extra Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent. If you conservatively value Ultimate Rewards points at 1.5 cents each, this is like an automatic 15% rebate on top of any other discounts or coupons you use. I know that some of my regular readers will ask if you can “double dip” at Lands End by buying gift cards for the points and then using the gift cards to get the points again. The answer is a cautious “maybe”. The Lands’ End terms and conditions say “Not eligible on gift cards.” I find this frustratingly vague. Do they mean that the purchase of gift cards is not eligible, or that the use of gift cards is not eligible, or both? My guess is that it refers to the purchase of gift cards. If that is true, then you could double dip by buying gift cards at Sears for 6 points per dollar and then use them at Lands’ End tomorrow (Friday) to get an additional 10 points per dollar. If you do this, though, you run the risk not getting any bonus points at all. Try at your own risk.
J. Crew
December 3rd only, get 10 extra points per dollar. A double dip might work since the terms and conditions are mum about the use of gift cards. Try at your own risk.
Red Envelope
December 4th through 6th, get 15 points per dollar! I don’t even know what Red Envelope is, but 15 points per dollar sounds good to me! The terms and conditions do not allow the double dip.
Sears
December 9th, 10 points per dollar. Sears awards points for both the purchase and use of gift cards. So, you can earn 20 points per dollar by buying e-gift cards for yourself and then when they arrive about an hour later, go through the Ultimate Rewards mall a second time to use the gift cards. The Frequent Miler family has several big purchases in mind for December 9th!
Kmart
20% off until 12/3. This isn’t really an opportunity to get extra Ultimate Rewards, but if you have a bunch of Sears or Kmart gift cards that you need to spend, you can use the code HOLIDAY online to save 20% off many items. For in person purchases, click here to get a printable coupon. Note that there are many exclusions. (thanks for the tip SteelSnow)
