Many people have experienced situations where the transaction amount reported by Kohl’s to the portal has been much less than the actual transaction. Most issues seem to be fixed, but it is still the case that orders of physical gift cards in transactions totaling more than $100, often do not get reported correctly. As usual, purchases of emailed gift cards (e-gift cards) do not earn points.
Note that you cannot apply the 30% off code to the purchase of gift cards, but you can use the 30% off code when paying with gift cards:
- Select your Kohl’s charge card as your method of payment
- Enter gift card numbers into the appropriate text box
- Enter the 30% off promo code

Yeah kohls deals are much better than other shopping networks. Kohls promo code and Kohls coupon codes are very suitable to good discount for everyone.
it is painful to place order online now. all my orders got stuck in submitted status. i had to call in to cancel and got gift cards restored. stay away until all these problems get fixed.
How long did it take to get your gift cards restored? Kohls cancelled an order on me, and it’s been about a week and my giftcards still show a $0 balance. Thanks!
In my case, I had to call to get the balances restored when I’ve had orders cancelled. I’d recommend that you call too
What a disaster Kohls has become! If you’re looking to score some Chase points from them, it’s absolutely not worth it (and probably just won’t happen this time around). If you want to save 30% with them (but no points) you can still do that but beware… My awful experience today:
1) Placed an order using promo code, pay with gift cards: Received an incomplete email which looks like it Submitted. Few hours later it’s cancelled.
2) Call up Kohls and rep tells me new system requires that if you use a promo code for Kohls Charge holders, some portion of your order has to be paid with Kohls Charge. Ok, that actually makes sense.
3) Try this again on website and charge like 10% of order on my Kohls Charge. Same issue. In fact, in the order confirmation email it shows “Amount Charge to Kohls Charge: $0.00” which doesn’t make sense since my order had a balance after using gift cards. A few hours later my order is cancelled.
4) Call up Kohls again. “We just changed software and we’re having a problem when orders use a mix of gift cards and Kohls Charge but I can manually enter the order for you.” OK. She enters the order and it actually charges the right amount to my Kohls Charge but even after 5 hours the order still says Submitted. In the past, this changed to “In Fulfillment” in like an hour.
Two issues:
1) Will the order actually go through?
2) Even if I get the merchandise I definitely won’t get the Chase points because she had to manually enter the order for me.
Has anyone else had a similar issue today? FM?
I had a different experience. I placed one order without any problems. I’m hoping that will go through without cancellation. A second order got hung up in the payment screen with a strange error. I started completely over after closing my browser and tried again, but got the same error. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow!
I’m just thinking about how this promotion would work with Kohl’s physical gift cards, assuming that you have a Kohl’s charge card. The Ultimate Rewards portal offers 10 points per dollar. Using an Amex business card for OPEN Savings would get extra savings, or using the Chase Freedom would currently get a 5X category bonus. Applying the discount code would yield 30% off and Kohl’s cash. Then it would be possible to sell the Kohl’s gift cards via Raise.com. Would this plan work?
bmau09: I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. You do not get 30% off the purchase of gift cards. I was, instead, referring to the ability to double dip: 1) buy gift cards through the UR Mall 10X; 2) Use gift cards through the UR Mall and apply 30% off code 10X
