American Express SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) cardholders can once again refer friends to the card and earn 5,000 SPG points for each successful referral (up to 55,000 points per calendar year). Even better, Amex has increased the usual signup bonus from 25K to 30K. Here are the details (which I received in an email as an SPG cardholder):
Dear GREGORY,
As a Card Member, you know the value of your Starpoints® and the rich rewards you can get from the Starwood Preferred Guest® program. Now you can help spread the word to your friends, family and colleagues and earn 5,000 bonus Starpoints for each approved referral.1 The more friends you refer, the more Starpoints you can earn — up to 55,000 Starpoints per calendar year.
Your friends must apply for the Card through the REFER NOW buttons in the email and be approved in order for you to earn your Referral Bonus.
And for a limited time, each friend can earn up to 30,000 bonus Starpoints: 10,000 Starpoints after their first purchase on the Card in addition to 20,000 Starpoints after they make $5,000 in purchases within their first 6 months of Card Membership.2,3 Referrals need to occur by June 30, 2014 and your friend must be approved by June 30, 2014 to be eligible for this limited time offer.4

I got approved for second lifetime bonus on both personal and business version of SPG card and applied on May 2. Has anyone gotten denied the 2nd signup bonus because of the May 1 once-in-a-lifetime deadline?

I was instantly approved for the Personal card and had to call in for the Business card. Told I had to call back in 5 days because I applied for them at the same time. The lady said no issues, just have to wait 5 days and then I will be approved. I have 815 FICO so no worries. Glad to help you guys get the 5K points!
