A number of credit cards have improved offers right now:

  • Barclaycard US Airways card now has an option for 50K miles after $1K spend (vs. the usual 40K miles after first purchase).  UPDATE: This appears to be a targeted offer that requires a personal ID code.
  • The United MileagePlus card has long offered 50K miles after $2K spend + 5K miles for adding an authorized user. The difference now is that there is a direct link available instead of a sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t hack.
  • The Chase Ink Plus business card is available for 70K points after $5K spend not just in-branch, but now people have received offers of the same through the mail.

The above offers are detailed (with links, where appropriate) on my Best Credit Card Offers page.

Can I convert my current US airways card to a non-annual fee card and then apply for it by the end of this year?
Thank you, FM.

Its actually possible to have more than one US Airways card at once so you can cancel or keep your current one and still try to get a new one (I have two, for example). I don’t know if they have a downgrade path to a no annual fee card, but you can certainly try.

Any tips on how to get a Personal ID Code to apply for the US Airways 50k offer? Thanks!
