Citi AA signup bonuses now 50K

a close-up of a pierWhile Barclaycard is out with a new AA 60,000 mile offer after first purchase, Citibank’s previous 60K offers have gone away.  Fortunately we found 50K working links to both the personal Platinum Select AAdvantage and CitiBusiness Platinum Select AAdvantage cards.

Unfortunately, both applications do have Citi’s 24 month restrictions…

Personal card:

American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have had any Citi® / AAdvantage® card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.

Business card:

This card is not available if the business already has a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard® card. Bonus miles are not available if you have had any CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card opened or closed in the past 24 months.

Please click here to find links to both applications on our Best Offers Page.

My take:

The Barclaycard offer is obviously better in many ways, but if you’re looking for a Citibank AA card, the 50K offers are decent.  Personally, I rarely find good uses for my AA miles, so I’ll wait until better offers come along.

Greg-

Are you saying the Barclay offer isn’t worth jumping on?

I’m grounded for both the personal and business versions of the Citi AA card products due to the 24 month Card Family verbiage. Not for much longer, however. At least for the personal. Been using AA miles to get my family friends from RDU HNL in shoulder season (May and Sept) with good consistency. Greg, sorry you haven’t found much use for AA miles personally.
