Extra 2% back at Sam’s Club with Dosh

6

Dosh is a cash back app that allows you to link credit cards and automatically earn rewards at a variety of retailers when you use your linked card. These rewards stack on top of whatever you earn with your credit card, portal rewards, coupons, etc. Right now, they appear to be offering 2% back on your entire purchase at Sam’s Club. The one sentence of fine print does say “at participating stores only”. You can verify whether or not your store is participating in the app.

The Deal

  • 2% cash back on your entire purchase at Sam’s Club (appears to be uncapped and this stacks with your regular credit card rewards)

Quick Thoughts

This can’t possibly last. The email says, “Now you can stock up even more with this incredibly rare in-store offer. Get 2% cash back at Sam’s Club”. Doctor of Credit has an early review of the Dosh app and notes that it works on the Empyr platform. Linking your credit card numbers to a system like this naturally causes both privacy and security concerns. However, if you’re comfortable with linking in this type of system, the ability to earn an additional 2% back at Sam’s Club could certainly be compelling. Matched with a card that earns 2 or 3% back at Sam’s Club, this could combine to add a nice additional discount on a variety of purchases. For example, one of the members of our Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group suggested that this could be great for Disney fans, who would stack this savings on top of already-discounted Disney gift cards at Sam’s Club.

It’s worth noting that Dosh has been around for much of 2017, but it’s still a relatively young player in this space. I haven’t read of many negative experiences with it, but this promotion seems overly generous. I wouldn’t be surprised if it disappears almost as quickly as the 7.5% back on Amex gift cards did. If you’re interested in this one, I’d suggest striking while the iron is hot.
