Cheap points: $170 for $200 at Sears, earn 5X

PayPal Digital Gifts is selling $200 Sears gift cards for just $170, with a limit of 2 per customer. Purchases on eBay from PayPal Digital Gifts normally earn 5x points on a Chase Ink Cash (or Chase Ink Plus – no longer available). You could sell the gift cards for a small loss (or you could break even depending on your bulk reselling relationships), earning some cheap and easy Ultimate Rewards points. Alternatively, these could come in handy as holiday sales approach. I imagine this one will not last long.

The Deal

  • $200 Sears eGift card for $170 from PayPal Digital Gifts via eBay
  • Direct link

Key Terms

  • Limit of 2 per customer
  • Email delivery

Quick Thoughts

As noted above, these cards could come in handy for you as the holiday season approaches. Alternatively, they can be resold at publicly-available rates of about 82% of face value ($164). Paying six bucks for 850 Membership Rewards points (or 12 bucks for 1700 if you max this one out) is like paying less than .71 cents per point. That’s not bad if you need to top up your account for an award. Depending on your reselling relationships, you might do even better — in fact, according to GiftCardWiki, you might be able to sell these for the full $170 price (85% of face value):

If you’re able to do that, you’re earning free points on this deal. Whether you plan to use them or sell them, this is a pretty good deal for Sears gift cards.
