Los Angeles to Hong Kong from $315 nonstop RT

Edit: The $315 rate doesn’t appear to be available any longer, although there are still some sub-$400 fares which is still a good rate.

A Thrify Traveler Premium email today alterted me to a nice deal posted yesterday by Fly4Free: Hong Kong Airlines has some great prices available for travel from Los Angeles to Hong Kong this spring: from $315 round trip nonstop. I’m not very familiar with Hong Kong Airlines, but they fly an A350 on this route and there is no additional charge for meals, checked bags, or seats — so this is a great price if you don’t mind traveling in economy class.

The Deal

  • Cheap economy class nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong — from as low as $315 round trip through smaller online travel agencies listed on Momondo

Availability

  • Through May on select dates

Quick Thoughts

This one is a bit of a challenge to find since Google Flights doesn’t show these prices and furthermore isn’t showing prices on Hong Kong Airlines at all until I select the outgoing and return flights. Google Flights prices are in the $500’s, but smaller online travel agencies listed on Momondo.com are showing prices like the one seen above — just $315 round trip. Click here for a link and then change dates to search for availability through May. Keep in mind that some of these smaller online travel agencies are lesser-known entities. I’d recommend holding off on making nonrefundable plans until you’re sure this will be honored and it would be prudent to do a little research on the OTA you choose.

Fly4Free has some example sets of dates.

While this is a long way to fly in economy class, it’s hard to beat the price. If you’re looking for a cheap way to Asia, it doesn’t get much cheaper than this.

90% of the world happily sits 13 hours in economy class to be lifted to the other side of the world overnight. Bloggers are beyond spoiled in how they comment ” This is a long way to travel in economy class” . You know most people will only ever travel in economy class and be so thankful for the amazing opportunity to do so.

Says the guy who reads travel blogs. Fact of the matter is, I pay less to fly Business or First on similar flights thanks to the travel bloggers.

Ryan

Totally cool, but no need for them to belittle Economy Class. It is the only way some people fly.
