Office Depot/Office Max is running an in-store promotion that’s offering a $10 instant discount when purchasing $100+ on select gift cards.
The Deal
- Spend $100+ on the following gift cards and get a $10 instant discount:
- eBay
- Cabela’s
- Petco
- Domino’s
- Ruby Tuesday
- Red Robin
- Jiffy Lube
Key Terms
- Expires June 16, 2018.
- Limit one per household/business.
- Discount applied at register.
- Must meet $100 minimum spend in any combinations of cards featured.
Quick Thoughts
A 10% discount on most of these brands isn’t particularly exciting as you can frequently get 15-20% discounts on most of these gift cards from Kroger, eBay Daily Deals, etc.
However, a 10% discount on eBay gift cards is more compelling. It also has the potential to be a profitable deal for gift card resellers, especially if you have a credit card which offers a bonus at office supply stores.
It’s a little frustrating that there’s a limit of one per household or business. It’s easy to get around this limit by not providing your Office Depot Rewards account number and either visiting multiple stores or the same store on different days / times, but it does make it more inconvenient trying to scale the deal.
I bought an eBay gift card at a nearby Office Depot yesterday. It initially rang up as $100, but the $10 discount was then applied when it was time to pay. I probably could’ve gotten away with buying multiple cards in separate transactions as the cashier wasn’t aware of the deal because she was confused when it only charged me $90. That might be due to the deal not appearing in the weekly ad, so hopefully you have some luck with a cashier who’s unaware of the one per household limit.
If you’re interested in the deal, it’d be best to get to your local store ASAP as Office Depot has been known to pull deals like this early.

The $10 discount would not show until I added an OD rewards number. I tried twice.
That’s strange – I was able to get the discount without using my Rewards number. I wonder if stores can individually set up that requirement?
I would test that out but the other OD near me is out of the EBay cards
You need to ask the clerk to hit the total button. The recent 20% off and this deal went further than I realized for stamps and other stuff.
