Quick Thoughts

This card is a great choice for frequent Delta flyers regardless of the current welcome offer as it comes with valuable perks like SkyClub access and an annual economy or first class companion certificate (awarded after your first year), which could go a long way towards mitigating the annual fee. It further enables heavy spenders to reach status faster as one can earn up to 30K MQMs per year based on spend (in addition to the 10K MQMs offered as a one-time welcome bonus upon meeting the minimum spending requirements), Getting 70,000 Delta SkyMiles on top of all of that makes this card well worth consideration.

While SkyMiles earned themselves a pretty bad rap for a while, Delta has been upping the ante lately with tons of great flash sales, which offer decent value for the miles if you are looking to fly in economy class (or if you’ve got status that often gets you upgraded). I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Delta on a number of domestic award searches, and many partners can be easily booked online.

If you’re chasing Delta status, this would be a key tool to have in your wallet. For more on that, see: How to manufacture Delta Elite Status, recently updated.
