There is a new offer out to get 30% off in select categories at Amazon.com when paying with at least 1 Citi ThankYou point. The maximum discount is $15 (max order total of $50). This is a targeted promotion — unfortunately, I was not targeted.

Quick Thoughts
This looks like another strong promotion if you’re targeted. According to Doctor of Credit, the categories can include Toys, Wireless, Sports, Lawn & Garden, Auto, Baby, Outdoors, Pets, and many more. The categories available to you will depend on your shopping history. If it works like the most recent Amex promo, the categories available to you will likely be categories in which you’ve never shopped before.
While I wasn’t targeted on this one, I’m not sure there are many more new categories left for me, so I’m not sure there would have been much that was useful. However, I’m sure a lot of readers could find some items where this discount could be a great deal.
Remember that you have to use at least 1 Citi ThankYou point. You’ll then need to pay the balance with a Citi ThankYou card. I wouldn’t recommend using more than one point as you only get 1 cent per point in value — and you can do much better with Citi transfer partners.
