(EXPIRED) $75 back on Puerto Rico hotel booking (almost free nights after rewards)

Sorry, this deal is no longer available. Do you want to be alerted about new deals as they’re published? Click here to subscribe to Frequent Miler's Instant Posts by email.

Orbitz is offering $75 back in Orbucks when you book select hotels in Puerto Rico. That stacks with promo code BOOKNOW and should also earn you portal cash back. The terms are very vague (though this does show on 1 night stays) and it will require some hunting around for a deal, but if you’re planning a trip to Puerto Rico or you find a place cheap enough, this could be a great deal.

The Deal

Key Terms

  • There is not yet a full terms & conditions page for this promo as of the time of writing. You must book by October 1st, but it is valid for bookings beyond that (unsure how far beyond)

Quick Thoughts

This is certainly only going to be applicable for some readers, but for those who can take advantage it looks like a terrific deal.

It takes some time to find the deal right now as the additional Orbucks do not show up in search results or on the hotel landing pages. You will only see (or not see) the bonus $75 on the checkout page. For example, here is the Tres Palmas Inn for November 6-7, 2018.

In the search results and as you can see above on the individual hotel page, it only showed $3.07 in Orbitz Rewards. However, when you click “reserve” and go through to the checkout page, you’ll see the additional Orbucks on qualifying hotels:

The total increased to $78.07 in Orbitz Rewards bucks with the promotion apparently valid at this property. Furthermore, 10% off via promo code BOOKNOW stacked. See CashBackMonitor.com for portal options to stack. The example above likely isn’t the best deal in all of Puerto Rico — it was just one quick example.

At the moment, the only way to know if a hotel qualifies is to test it out. I would expect that major chain properties will not qualify. Surely there will be some deals to be had for one night stays. It appears that this promotion is only valid one time per account. That said, if you’re traveling with multiple people, I imagine each person would be able to create his or her own account. I’m pretty surprised that this deal works on one night stays. Be sure to check the landing page again before booking in case terms get updated or changed.
