Just want to share a DP on this card. I closed it after the annual fee hit (within a couple of days of the annual fee hitting) and I was told I still needed to pay the fee. I escalated it to a manger and nothing happened. A couple of ppl on Doctor of Credit had the same issue. Looks like it is a BBVA policy. So just close the card before a year is over even though that is not recommended for most other banks

That’s a very useful heads up. I believe Banco Popular (issuer of Lifemiles cards) has a similar policy.
