MD & DC are not listed as states on the application, so I can’t apply yet. Spoke to them on the phone and they said they’re working on it. Took my phone number and said they’d call me when issue is resolved.

Hi Glen,

Have they called you yet? I couldn’t apply for it either since I am in MD. This really make me sad that we are going to loose this great promotion. Please let me know what else you get ok.

Thank you,

Edwin

15% discount when purchasing miles with Multiply Your Miles – this is only for a paid ticket?
essentially this is $149 for 60k miles.

The 15% discount is used for purchasing miles through Multiply Your Miles. You can double or triple the miles you earn through the credit card (or flights) buying the miles at a price (after the 15% discount) of 1.45 cents. This is a good option to access competitive prices for relatively low volume purchases.

@glen: the omission of Maryland appears to be intentional. There is a note indicating that they are not currently issuing cards in Maryland.

I applied & an automated reply asked me to upload proof of income online- anyone ever hear of that for a credit card?

@Mo – not personally, but today I found some posts on FT about an AAdvantage credit card also issued by Banco Popular (open to PR and USVI residents). It seems some folks have had to send in various documentation that one normally wouldn’t expect. In some cases this was proof of residency but I recall some people mentioned income verifications and I think even a tax return! Weird.

I applied for this card twice and each time the application page got and stuck in a page stating “we are unable to authenticate you” and each time my application was denied. I even called the helpline but apparently they do not have a reconsideration line and the customer support agent tried submitting but got same error. After 2 pulls against credit history I am still not able to get approved. The agent said the answers to the security questions should match but I never had the questions show up to me or the agent.
Please suggest any way

Note: I had credit score of over 750 before applying

I just applied using the promo code for the 60K offer and I was approved automatically. I did have to answer some security questions from my credit to authenticate my application.

This is a HORRIBLE bank to deal with. There’s a reason they couldn’t get a bank other than Banco Popular to administer this train wreck. They have NO idea what they are doing.

I got this card a few months ago and everything has worked well. I was told that there is a new management team at Banco Popular that developed the card … could be marketing mumbo jumbo, but my experience has been great so far.

I applied for the card yesterday, approved online and confirmed by phone call today that I will get 60,000 LM (the last screen after approval said 40,000).

No hit to credit report so far – and I had just got 3 new cards less than 1 month ago.
$149 for 60K miles. Should be worth it. If no hit after a while I’ll try for my wife (she is trying to get under 5/24 in a year or so, while I am just forgetting Chase (except for any that are NOT subject to 5/24).

When will the points expire? If you close the card, what do you need to do to keep the points active? Where, generally, can these points be used, such as flying to where?
