FM Mini Review: Frequent JetBlue travelers should seriously consider this card for its terrific perks. The combination of the 10% rebate on awards and the annual 5,000 point bonus make this card a keeper.

Earning rate: ⚬ 2X restaurants and grocery ⚬ 6X JetBlue ⚬ 1X everywhere else

Big spend bonus: Earn Mosaic elite status with $50,000 calendar year spend. Mosaic status good for rest of calendar year and all of next year.

Overview

The JetBlue Plus card is a solid product for frequent flyers of the airline. It comes with a decent sign-up bonus, a 10% rebate on rewards, 5,000 bonus points each year and a way to earn Mosaic elite status through spend.

  • 5/24 Rule Arrival+ Only: Difficult (but not impossible) to get approved for Arrival+ if you've opened 5 or more cards with any bank in past 24 months.

  • Get Same Card Again: Must wait 6 months after cancelling previous card.

  • Hard inquiries are combined into 1 when approved same day. Most inquiries issued through TransUnion.

If I cancel the card before the annual fee hits, would I keep the points in my TrueBlue account?

Yes. JetBlue TrueBlue points never expire (see “Do my TrueBlue points expire” on this page: https://trueblue.jetblue.com/web/trueblue/trueblue-faqs).

Note that you’ll want to wait until after your statement cuts for any points you’re earning right now to post before you cancel your card.
