As has been reported by One Mile at a Time, the current 50,000 point signup bonus on the Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard is said to be ending tomorrow morning. If you’re interested in applying for this card, it looks like now may be the time.

As a reminder, this card earns:

  • 50,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days
  • 2X miles on all purchases
  • 5% miles back every time you redeem
  • Redeem your miles for travel statement credits starting at 10,000 miles for $100 toward all or a portion of your travel purchase of $100 or more made within the past 120 days.

Barclaycard miles are worth 1 cent each when redeemed towards travel and they can not be transferred to any partners. The signup bonus is worth $500 towards travel, and you would then earn a 5% rebate on your redeemed miles, good for another $25. At 2X on all purchases, it’s like earning 2% back — plus the 5% rebate on redeemed points, upping the total return to about 2.1% back towards travel. Of course, the catch is that you can only redeem for travel purchases and only for those that are $100 or more.

Long term, there are more rewarding cards on the market for everyday spend. However, the signup bonus on this card is certainly worthwhile and with the annual fee waived the first year, this card is worth a look. If you’re interested in taking advantage of the 50K offer, it looks like this could be a last call.

Please disregard – I was referring to the Aviator for AA but my questions do remain the same.

Does anyone know what options are left? AA is still offering the application for the red version in flight with 60,000 miles + 500 for inflight.

I was looking for both the business card application, either online, in the magazines or via paper app and can’t seem to find anything it the red one.
