The Choice Privileges Visa Signature card is out with a new and best-ever offer good for a total of 64,000 Choice Privileges points after meeting minimum spending requirements.
Key Card Details
This is a great offer if you’re interested in Choice points. While Choice has its quirks (e.g. you can only book award stays 100 days in advance), points can be reasonably valuable in many instances. In Scandinavia, Choice points are of particularly good use as many Nordic Choice hotels offer both free breakfast and a free evening meal, which could save you serious money in Scandinavian countries. Last year, I spent a night at a Clarion at Oslo airport. Room rates were around $230 per night, but I paid just 16,000 points (dinner was not included at that property).
You won’t see a new cardmember bonus referenced on the application page itself, but if you click “Terms and Conditions” and scroll through them, you should find this section:
You will receive a one-time 32,000 point bonus after you spend $1,000 in Net Purchases within the first 90 days of Account open date. You will also receive an additional one-time 32,000 bonus points after you spend an additional $2,000 in Net Purchases within the first 180 days of the Account open date. The bonuses will be reflected on the billing statement in which you have qualified to earn the bonus. Please allow 4-6 weeks for point bonuses to be deposited into your Membership account after the qualifying purchase(s) have posted to your Account. This offer may be cancelled at any time without notice.
This new offer basically doubles the value of the previous offer (which was 32K points plus a $25 statement credit). While Choice points may not be the most popular currency to collect, you could get quite a bit of mileage out of this bonus depending on where you use your points.
