Bitmo is offering 15% off all gift cards they sell through the app when using promo code NEWYEAR. With brands such as Airbnb, Delta, Nike and more, this is good for personal use and potentially reselling as well.

Quick Thoughts

If you’re not familiar with Bitmo, it’s a smartphone app that sells eGift cards. Its biggest downside is that payment is taken directly from your bank account. Some people will have security concerns as a result, plus it means you don’t earn credit card rewards. Having said that, I’ve used Bitmo many times and have never had an issue.

Even though you won’t earn points/miles on the purchase, a 15% discount is great considering some of the brands they sell include Airbnb, Delta, Nike, Kohl’s and more. It’s therefore a great way to stock up on discounted gift cards for personal use, or possibly even for reselling.

In my experience, the first gift card you buy on any given day is made available immediately, while any subsequent purchases that same day will result in you having to wait for payment to clear (due to payment via bank account) before they make the additional gift cards available. Bitmo therefore isn’t a great option if you need gift cards immediately, but it’s a good way to save 15% if you’re able to wait a day or two.

You can also use code GIFTHAPPY10 to save 10% on one gift card worth up to $100. If you’ve never used Bitmo before, use promo code BETTERGIFT5 after signing up (enter it in the ‘Account’ section) to get a free $5 gift card. That’s a generic promo code rather than my referral code.
