Today only, Bloomingdale’s has a coupon (code: EASTER) for $75 off of $350 or more. While there is a long list of exclusions, there are still many popular items on which this sale will work.
For example, here is a Burberry watch (also available in a women’s size for the same price):
When added to the cart and the coupon code is applied, it comes down to $282 + tax.
Additionally, we can stack 8% cash back from BeFrugal. Alternatively, Discover card holders in year 1 can earn 5% back now and another 5% back at the end of the first year with Discover’s year 1 double cash back bonus (for a total savings of 10%).
For comparison, Google Shopping shows us that the same watch sells at Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, and several other stores for about $415-$450:
After cash back your total would be $259.44 at Bloomingdale’s, plus tax on $282 if you use BeFrugal. Discover card holders in year 1 save a little more at a net $253.80.
Note that cash back portal terms state that they will not pay out on the purchase of or redemption of gift cards. If you pay with Bloomingdale’s gift cards, the purchase may not earn cash back. Sometimes, portal terms are wrong. Right now, Bloomingdale’s gift cards are available for around 7% off on popular resale sites. With the percentages close, I might chance it and use a gift card despite the portal terms. If they truly don’t pay out, you’ll lose about $3 of savings. If they do pay out, you could save another $19.74. Our laboratory results confirm that buying a gift card will void cash back, but we don’t have recent results on the redemption of gift cards, so we don’t know whether or not that will work.
Whether or not a Burberry watch is worth that price to you is completely subjective — this is just meant as an example of savings using today’s coupon code. Look for items marked “Extra Savings with code: EASTER” as marked below. See Bloomingdales.com for more information and a list of exclusions.
