Business Class: Philadelphia to Bangkok ~$2520 round trip

2

First Class Flyer is reporting that there are very good business class fares between Philadelphia and Bangkok for travel into mid-June – starting around $2517 on Qatar Airways or Air France and KLM. It’s not the Maldives to New York for $101, but these are nonetheless great prices.

These fares are available for departures on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays between now and June 21st. For example, here is June 6-13:

Don’t trust the Google Flights availability calendar — despite the fact that it was only showing some dates available between now and June 14th, I saw these discounted fares when clicking on any Monday-Wednesday departure date before June 22nd. Returns are good through September with a maximum stay of 3 months. For example, here are return dates in August based on a departure date of June 21st:

Do they show up on Amex Travel?

Those looking to use the Enhanced Business Platinum’s pay-with-points rebate might wonder if these fares show up via Amex Travel. Unfortunately, the Qatar Airways flights do not. The Air France and KLM flights do show up via Amex Travel. Unfortunately, that involves 2 stops on the return leg — but still a great value if you have the points.

Final Word

These aren’t mistake fares, but they are still excellent prices for business class on this route. Furthermore, Bangkok is often a good starting point for cheap business class fares to other places. With these fares having a 3-month window on the return flight, you could potentially combine this with other good business class fares out of Bangkok to get a couple of trips in one. Note that prices are subject to fluctuation — as I was typing this post, it looks like the Qatar Airways flights have gone up about $15 round trip. If you’re looking to book, do so sooner rather than later. Remember that most OTAs will give you 24 hours to cancel.
