Caesar’s Total Rewards is out with an interesting promotion that might be an easy way to fast-track to Caesar’s Diamond status through tier points. There is a (potentially targeted) email offer going out to earn 1,000 tier points per night on qualifying stays. Since Diamond status requires 15,000 points, you would need 15 (potentially very cheap) nights to earn the tier points necessary to qualify.

I didn’t receive an email on this promotion, but Michael at Travel Zork covers it in detail. I’ve got some highlights here, but I encourage you to read his post if you’re looking for more information as he delves into the details and is certainly more familiar with the Caesar’s Total Rewards program.

In a nutshell, this promo is offering 1,000 Tier Points per night. Some of the key terms include:

  • Room rate must be greater than $20 and you must stay by March 31, 2018.
  • You must book online
  • Valid at all Caesars hotels.
  • Not valid with any other offer.
  • Reservations are subject to a resort fee (though resort fees are waived for Diamond/Seven Stars members)

There is a promo code and an opt-in potentially required — again, see the Travel Zork post for more in-depth analysis.

Many people might be especially interested in this promo because of the cheap midweek rates found at this time of year at many Caesar’s properties. If you already have Caesar’s Diamond status (perhaps through Founders Card), this might be a good way to re-qualify if you don’t intend to keep Founders Card. It’s a particularly good deal for current Diamond members since they don’t pay resort fees — making those cheap $30 or $40 midweek rates even more attractive.

These cheap rates even say that they come with a $20 food credit Sunday through Thursday.

Of course, Caesar’s recently devalued Diamond status, taking away many of the best benefits (including lounge access at 15,000 tier credits — you’ll now need 25,000 credits for that) — though they later made some updates. If you earn the 15,000 tier credits by 3/31/18 with this promo, you’ll have lounge access through 9/18/18 according to this update. To get access for 2019, you’ll need to hit 25K.

Bottom line

This is an interesting promotion for sure. While I’ve been known to lay a wager now and then, my game of choice has long been poker — where loyalty credits add up slowly in a casino. Due to that, I’ve never paid much attention to casino loyalty programs. However, priority check-in can be a huge time-saver in Las Vegas (and is one of the reasons I’ve enjoyed MLife status from Hyatt and/or Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings). Waived resort fees, free parking, and room discounts could really add up if you’re a casino regular — and those are just some of the benefits. See the full benefits of Caesar’s Total Rewards Tiers here. I don’t think this promo will appeal much to casual gamblers, but if you’re able to take advantage of cheap midweek rates to pick up 15 nights, this would be a much cheaper way to earn Caesar’s status than at the machines.
