Chase Pay is offering a “happy hour” today, 1/9/19 only: save $5 when you order ahead or pay in-store with a QR code at restaurants from 5pm-6pm. Again, that offer is only valid on Wednesday, January 9th from 5pm-6pm or when supplies run out. That’s a small win, but free food is free food.

Quick Thoughts
Keep in mind that restaurants that accept Chase Pay are pretty limited. You’ll want to log in to the Chase Pay app (new users note that this is not the Chase mobile app that you use to log into your Chase account but rather a separate Chase Pay app) and then clear “Find”. Eligible restaurants will be shown under “nearby” or “order ahead”. Examples of some places I’ve seen that would be eligible for this offer include Five Guys, Tropical Smoothie, TCBY, and 16 Handles. YMMV of course in larger areas. Five bucks won’t get you a whole meal, but saving money is always nice. I think this should stack with the offer to get a $10 meal credit after using Chase Pay for restaurants 3 times by January 31st (that offer has a minimum order of $5 each time — I’m not positive whether that’s $5 after the happy hour savings or before.

I would assume in your local time zone. If you’re on the west coast, I would guess that this is on right now. Log in to the chase pay app and see if you see the offer.
Experience from the Dec’18 promo to spend $5+ x3 worked on the pre-discount amount. Hopefully this is the same this month, or at least we would get a heads up from Chase if that changes.

FYI: You should also be able to pay with the Chase Pay QR code at LevelUp locations.
Previously when they had the Chase Pay Birthday sale or other offers if you order enough to trigger the $5 minimum after the discount it did count towards the 3/months.
I made the mistake of using the Happy New Year discount but not ordering enough for $5 spend to count towards 3 times a month. I just needed a drink and would have been fine, lol
