Citi adds Qantas as transfer partner

Citi has added Qantas as a new 1 to 1 transfer partner from their ThankYou Rewards program.  Citi now has 12 transfer partners, all of which can be found on Frequent Miler’s Transfer Partner Master List.

Qantas is a member of the OneWorld alliance and has a distance based award chart.  This would be nice if it was competitive.  However, prices look quite steep to me.  Here’s their partner award chart:

It’s unfortunate that Citi hasn’t yet added British Airways (also a member of the OneWorld alliance) as a transfer partner.  As of April 28th, 2015, here is the British Airways award chart:

My apologies if the above charts are too small to read.  Suffice it to say that most British Airways awards are much cheaper than Qantas.

UPDATE 2/23/2015 11:20 am EST: Qantas award prices on certain partners including AA and US Airways are slightly cheaper.  Charts can be found here. Hat Tip: Miles for Family:

the partner chart is expensive, but what about redeeming Qantas miles for their own flights?
