Citi is offering a 25% bonus when transferring ThankYou points to Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France and KLM. This bonus will be around for several weeks, so there’s no need to transfer speculatively right now.

Quick Thoughts
Getting a 25% bonus on Flying Blue miles is a decent deal, especially if you’re able to pair that with one of their Promo Rewards. This month’s set of Promo Rewards offers 50% off award flights between Europe and Atlanta or Houston. When doing some research for that post, I found flights to London for only 10,750 miles + $98.75. With this transfer bonus, you’d only need to transfer 9,000 ThankYou points as they have to be transferred in increments of 1,000, although you’d still have the same $98.75 in fees.
They’re also currently offering 25% off business class awards from some North American cities to Europe. While the discount isn’t as large as in Economy, there are still some good deals to be had. For example, Chicago to Prague was costing 39,750 miles + $243.51. With the 25% bonus, you’d only need to transfer 34,000 ThankYou points; despite the relatively high cash element, that’s a great cost miles-wise for one-way business class to Europe.
The next set of Promo Rewards will be announced next week (or possibly at the end of this week), so bear this transfer bonus in mind when considering if there are any worthwhile options on that list.

Does transferring points reset the expiration date of your existing balance?
Unfortunately not with Flying Blue – you have to credit a flight to them to extend their life.

Miles earned from the Air France BOA’s credit card can extend the expiration date
