Delta Award Flash Sale: Mexico From 12k SkyMiles RT

Delta’s having another award flash sale, with round trip tickets to and from Mexico going for as low as 12,000 SkyMiles.

Delta Award Flash Sale To Mexico

The Deal

  • Book a round trip flight from the US to select cities in Mexico from 12,000 SkyMiles.

Key Terms

  • Discounted award tickets available to and from the following cities:
    • Cancun (CUN)
    • Mexico City (MEX)
    • Cozumel (CZM)
    • Puerto Vallarta (PVR)
    • Cabo San Lucas (SJD)
    • Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo (ZIH)

Quick Thoughts

Booking round trip tickets to Mexico from only 12,000 SkyMiles (plus taxes) is a great deal. As Thrifty Traveler notes, round trip flights to Mexico in Economy usually cost 35,000 miles, so this sale could save you 66%. Tickets are available through to February 2019, but not on all dates and not from all cities.

Check out the Thrifty Traveler post for a list of how many SkyMiles are required from many US cities. Here are some of the deals I found though:

Boston to Cancun for 12,000 miles in January

NYC to Cancun for 16,000 miles in May

Even smaller airports are getting in on the act. Here’s Norfolk, VA to Cancun showing availability at 26,000 SkyMiles.

Flights don’t have to originate in the US – round trip flights starting in Mexico are also available from 12,000 SkyMiles.

One-way flights are also discounted. Some routes are showing as costing more than half of a round trip flight, although Boston to Cancun can be had for only 6,000 SkyMiles one way.

As with all Delta award flash sales, this deal won’t last long so book your tickets ASAP if you fancy a trip to Mexico.
