The Dosh app is offering double cashback at JCPenney this weekend, so you can earn 10% on in-store purchases. This can be stacked with a couple of other deals to save up to 19% at JCPenny.

Dosh App JCPenney 10%

The Deal

  • Earn 10% cashback in-store at JCPenney when using a Dosh-linked card.

Key Terms

  • Expires October 7 (or possibly October 8), 2018.
  • Must use Dosh-linked credit or debit card.

Quick Thoughts

A 10% cashback rate for JCPenney is fairly common when using a portal and purchasing from their website, but 10% for in-store purchases is much rarer.

It’s not entirely clear how long the 10% rate will last for. Dosh is advertising it as being for this weekend, so normally that would mean it’d end today (Sunday). However, it’s Columbus Day weekend and the wording on the Dosh app states the 10% rate is available “through midnight CT tomorrow”. I’ve reached out to Dosh for clarification, so will update the post if and when they reply.

You can save up to 19% by stacking this flash cashback increase with a couple of other deals. Ebates offers 4% cashback for JCPenney in-store purchases and appears to run on a different network to Dosh, so both should track and pay out.

Department stores like JCPenney are also well-represented in Q4’s 5% bonus categories. Both the Chase Freedom and Citi Dividend cards are offering 5% cashback at department stores from October 1 to December 31, while the US Bank Cash+ card offers department stores as one of the categories you can select for 5% cashback over the same dates. Just be sure to link your credit card to both Dosh and Ebates in order to earn the maximum in-store cashback.

If you’ve never used the Dosh app before, here’s my referral link. I get $5 if you sign up and you get $5 as well.
