(EXPIRED) Easy points & profit: Save on Visa Gift Cards at Safeway (Just4U coupons)

Safeway (and presumably affiliates like Vons, Albertsons, Randalls, etc) is offering a Just4U coupon good for savings on Visa Gift Cards through June 30th. While the coupon terms state that it can be used once per transaction, it is more likely that this will be valid for a single use per customer. Still, it might be worth testing if you’re going shopping and you have a card that earns one of the Best category bonuses at grocery stores.

• Terms state “Limit 1 per transaction”, but then it also says “one-time store coupon”. It is probably a single use coupon.

Quick Thoughts

In both cases, the discount should beat the activation fees on these cards. The Safeway form of the coupon suggests that the discount is on fixed-denomination cards since it states the discount “when you buy two $100 Visa Gift Cards”. That said, it’s possibe that the coupon may work on higher-denomination (or variable-load) cards. If you experiment with that, let us know in the comments. Update:Reader David in the comments tested this and found the variable-load cards did not work. The safe bet would be to buy $100 Visa Gift Cards and collect some easy rewards, just make sure you use a card that earns a good return at the grocery store.
