I thought gift cards were exlcuded from the 5x bonus category unless it’s a gift card for a department store that is already included in this Q4 bonus category. Can anyone confirm that the AMEX gift cards actually earn 5x points when purchased with your Freedom card at a CVS or Walgreens?

DAddy

Jesus you’re an idiot. Department stores like Walgreens don’t show that you bought a specific item.

Yes it is 5x.

I went to Walgreens in San Francisco and they didn’t know anything about this offer.

oh

good way to use plastiq to pay your mortgage or daycare bills, or anything of that nature. also a great way to use your Amex Blue Card (old version) that gives you 5% back on those purchases.

Thanks very much. No ID required at checkout for $250. ID required at $300 so $250 is probably the limit for no ID which might be useful if you’re going to hit this hard in a short time. No issues using credit card to buy them in N. Cal today.

Does it matter whether they Id you? I said $250 they I’d-ed me and I had to put my store rewards card number in. But they let the purchase go through, so not sure whether it matters that they asked for ID? Should I have changed it to$500 since they id-ed me?

Ali Raja

What ways do you suggest on liquidating them? Thanks!

Max

Buy a Visa GC with it for $4.95 fee. Oh wait, you can go straight to that step, and skip the AmEx nonsense.
