American Express has launched a new transfer bonus, offering a 25% bonus when transferring Membership Rewards to Aeromexico. That means they transfer on a 1:2 basis, but don’t get too excited – that’s still not an amazing ratio.

Quick Thoughts
Membership Rewards usually transfer to Aeromexico on a 1:1.6 basis, so this transfer bonus increases that ratio to 1:2. Amex offered a similar transfer bonus at the end of 2018 and it looks like the SkyTeam award chart is still the same.
Nothing on that list stands out as a particularly stunning redemption option, but the transfer bonus means you might get some OK deals. 40,000 Premier points for a domestic round trip in the low season would require you to transfer 20,000 Membership Rewards points. That might be a good option, but be sure to compare cash prices and other transfer partners as you might have better options elsewhere.
Award Wallet has a good post about potential sweet spots, although there are reports that Aeromexico Club Premier can be a difficult program to work with, so this transfer bonus is probably only worth taking advantage of if you know how to get good value out of it.

The award chart is still up, but they (Aeromexico) don’t necessarily follow these prices anymore and majority of what I’m seeing is dynamic now.

120k KMs to North Asia, ~= 60k MR in biz class for SkyTeam isn’t bad. Maybe it can be an interesting post to guide readers in how to book it! I found the online tool shows route availability originating from MEX better. Not sure if they let you route to North Asia via MEX? Also seeing MEX-CDG Direct (e.g. 5/29) in Biz for just 76k KMs (~38k MR with no fuel surcharge), bookable online. “38k to Europe in Biz!” Good deal, no?
These are good for round-the-world trips. I think that is where AeroMexico shines.
I was just thinking the same. Put’s the RTW ticket to 176,000 MR points for Biz fair for up to 15 cities.
