Delta is out with another award ticket flash sale today, with tickets to Asia from 50,000 SkyMiles round trip in main cabin seating (economy class). They also have a sale going on cash tickets, which might be a better deal in some instances. You’ll need to book by March 20th for travel through May 24th.

Quick Thoughts
There are a number of different routes on sale, with a selection pictured below. Some of these might be a decent deal if cash tickets are otherwise expensive for your city pair. On the other hand, some of the advertised cash prices for these routes are cheap enough that you might want to consider paying cash and holding onto your SkyMiles in the hopes of finding a more valuable redemption.
For example, if you’re able to find a flight from Seattle to Beijing for $490 round trip, that probably makes more sense than paying 50,000 SkyMiles and taxes and fees — giving you less than 1 cent per mile in value before even considering any miles you might earn on a paid ticket.
That said, it’s worth comparing if you’ve got miles and you’re planning a trip to see what provides the right value for you.

Delta’s skypesos are so frustrating, I would probably jump at the opportunity to use points even if I am getting less than 1 cent per point if it is a sale. The only good thing about their program is their points don’t expire. I’ve never signed up for their credit cards, nor do I have any intention to any time soon.
