Those who are looking to use rewards for JetBlue flights can get good value from these bonuses. According to our calculations, JetBlue points buy about 1.43c each in airfare. Our Reasonable Redemption Values peg them at 1.33c each accounting for the fact that you don’t earn points on award flights. You can reasonably expect to buy somewhere in the realm of $650-$800 in airfare with 50K-60K points. With some Mint routes to the Caribbean from the northeast US, one might even be able to stretch the welcome offer into a couple of comfortable flights up front.
Keep in mind that it is also possible to earn Jetblue Mosaic status purely through spend: with $50K spend on either of these cards in a calendar year, you would earn Mosaic status for the rest of the current year and all of the following year. Either card also offers a 10% annual rebate on redeemed points, though I believe these rebates no longer stack.
