New Platinum benefit: Access more Lufthansa lounges

8

Last year, a new lounge access benefit was added to the Amex Platinum cards (including both the personal and Business Platinum cards): lounge access to some Lufthansa lounges at Munich airport. That benefit has now been expanded to a number of lounges at Frankfurt airport.

Specifically, when flying with Lufthansa, Swiss, or Austrian, Platinum cardholders will now have complimentary access to:

  • Lufthansa Business Lounges (regardless of class of service) and Lufthansa Senator Lounges (when flying business class) in the Satellite area of T2 in Munich Airport, and T1 Concourse B in Frankfurt Airport

Additionally, Centurion cardholders will get access to the First Class, Senator, and Business Class lounges in both areas.

I used the Lufthansa Business Class lounge in Munich last year, and it was a good place to spend a couple of hours, grab a bite to eat, and get some work done.

Greg has been to one of the the Senator loungse in Frankfurt, and that looks like a good place to hang out between flights as well.

Overall, it’s great to see lounge access expand. It would be even better to see this expand to Lufthansa lounges in other cities around the world. At the moment, access to these lounges is available through May 31, 2019.
