Office Depot appears to be having a post Black Friday/pre Cyber Monday deal on their own gift cards. That’s because they’re offering a $20 instant discount when buying $100+ of Office Depot gift cards. The deal ends today (Sunday November 25) and is in-store only.

Quick Thoughts
This offer doesn’t appear to be mentioned anywhere on their website, but it was sent out via email. The limit of one per household/business is a shame, although you should be able to buy more than one in separate transactions so long as the cashier doesn’t have an issue with it. If doing more than one transaction, it’s probably best to not give your Office Depot Rewards number after the first transaction in case that prevents the instant discount from being applied again.
If possible, use a card that earns at a higher rate at office supply stores like the Chase Ink Plus (no longer available) or Ink Cash. While you’re there, it might be worth picking up some Happy gift cards as Office Depot is also offering an instant discount on those.

Yes, for Office Depot purchases only, although you might be able to break even or profit when reselling them.

Can you buy the $100 Office Depot gift card (get the $20 discount) then use the $100 gift card towards a $150 happy gift card to get another $20 off?

My understanding is that you can’t buy third party gift cards with Office Depot gift cards.
