We added several new offers to our database of Current Amex Offers this morning, including one that looks pretty good for Red Door Spa: Spend $175+, get 5,500 Membership Rewards points. That version was found on cards that earn Membership Rewards, though there is also a version for $55 back on some cards. If you’re interested in a holiday gift, I suggest syncing and waiting for a deal. See more below.

The Deal

  • New Amex Offer out for the Red Door Spa: Spend $175+ get 5,500 Membership Rewards points or $55 back [see your offer for details]

Key Terms

  • Valid in-store and online
  • Expires 12/16/18

Quick Thoughts

The Membership Rewards version of this offer looks particularly good to me. If you value Membership Rewards around our Reasonable Redemption Value of 1.82c each, this offer is worth around $100 back — though you can certainly get more value than that. For example, with the current point transfer bonus to Avios, you could get enough for a short haul one-way on American Airlines using British Airways Avios.

If you’re interested in using this for a gift, you can get a bit more bang for your buck by waiting for the inevitable deals around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last year, I wrote about a Cyber Monday deal where you could get a $175 gift card + a $25 bonus gift card + a $15 bonus voucher that was valid through the end of January (See: [Expired] Net $120 for $215 spa credit with stacking offers). If they repeat that deal, you could essentially get $215 in spa credit and 5,500 Membership Rewards points for $175. While The Red Door Spa is probably somewhat overpriced, I got my wife a couple of services last year at the spa at The Chatwal in New York City, which made for a nice surprise on our annual holiday trip to New York. See that post from last year for more.
