New Prepaid Rewards Debit Card Launching
I filled up my gas tank this afternoon. As I paid inside the station, the clerk asked me how I was doing. I replied, “Living the dream”. She said, “I’m living somebody else’s dream” — and I told her “That’s better than no dream at all!” Is it possible that there will be a prepaid rewards Visa card that is reloadable nationwide with a credit card? A new US-based low-cost carrier in the wings?
Whether or not you’d consider flying carriers like WOW, Norwegian, or Level, you can’t deny the effect those carriers have had on airfares from a consumer standpoint. We’ve regularly seen airfares from both coasts to Europe that are cheaper than what I’m paying to get to Chicago this weekend. Is there a new US-based ultra low cost carrier coming soon? 8,000 mile one-way awards on United – a bright spot in the Nov 1 devaluation
At the beginning of this month, a number of United awards went up in price. However, there was a bit of good news under the new chart — some one-way partner awards are available for as little as 8K points one-way. I think these might be particularly good value either close-in (especially if you have status) or for in and between Korea/Japan/China. Dave at Miles Talk has the details.

What’s your favorite price? Mine is definitely free — yet I will freely admit to having taken advantage of fewer free options than I’d like in my travels. Becky at sightDOING with The Girl and Globe gives some good suggestions about free opportunities to think about on your next trip. Reading her suggestions made me think of one of my favorite free sightseeing spots in New York City: The Brooklyn Promenade. It doesn’t cost you anything more than the subway fare to get there. One stop into Brooklyn, you get the postcard view of the New York City skyline at night. What are your favorite sightseeing/sight DOING suggestions around the world?
